How To

How to hunt wild Ducks

Decoys are the most common method of hunting wild ducks. Live decoys are the best way to hunt wild ducks. They should be placed at a distance away from your blind, so you can view them from afar. Windy conditions are a bad time to hunt as the birds can quickly disappear. Some birds might also be scared off by hunters who are nearby.

Make sure to count the birds that you intend to shoot when hunting wild ducks. If you don't know what kind of bird you're shooting, then you shouldn't shoot. You must ensure you have enough ammunition so you can take down as many birds or not.

If you do end with killing many birds you will want to clean the meat and prepare it before you eat. It is best not to wait until the meat is done cooking. Remove any bones or feathers from the meat once it is done.

Wild ducks can often be found close to water. However, they may also be seen flying through fields and woods. They usually fly low to the ground, which makes them easier targets. Keep your distance from wild duck hunters until you are close enough to take a shot. This means waiting patiently for the opportunity to shoot.
